The US Department of Energy (DoE) via the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office (HGEO) has awarded contracts for the exchange of 26 million barrels (mbbl) of crude oil drawn from the West Hackberry site within the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).
